Legal TidbitsWhy You Need a Lawyer When Dealing With An Insurance CompanyYou need to know your legal rights when you suffer physical injury, property damage or incur costs for something that was not your fault. If the person responsible for the "accident" would simply take responsibility and pay the injured person what they are entitled to, there would not be a need for lawyers. Unfortunately, it is a sad commentary on our society that individuals and the insurance companies that represent those individuals often will not take responsibility for the harm that they have caused making it necessary for lawyers to intervene on your behalf. What About Minor Accidents? If your injury is very minor and unlikely to happen again, it's often best to forget about it and move on. If you were involved in a minor fender bender, your insurance company should pay everything but the deductible; at least that is what they are supposed to do. Be careful, however, the extent and seriousness of an injury may not be immediately apparent. You may find yourself unable to do the work or play sports at the same pace as before your injury. That is where an attorney is needed to assess whether you have a claim which would permit you to recover for your physical injuries, lost wages and other damages. Want More Information?
